ABOUT ME

As a graphic designer and illustrator, I have a broad range of creative abilities that allow me to adjust stylistically to fit a project’s needs.  As an illustrator, my main focus is on conveying a physical health art, but that's not the limit of my abilities.  I have experience designing logos and overall branding, both of which I particularly enjoyed.  But at the end of the day, I most enjoy the challenge of crafting my art, be it a design, illustration, or photograph, to satisfy my clients and fit their needs.

I was born in Midland, Michigan, the home of Dow Chemical. But science was never for me.  At a young age, I fell in love with sports and art. At school, I loved the different projects we would get in art classes. It helped me explore different styles and my own creativity. When I wasn’t at school, I was at figure skating or track practice. While people may not always associate sports with art, I thought the fluid motions in the rink or at the track were artistic.

After leaving Midland, I attended Grand Valley State University, where I stayed for both of my degrees. During my first degree, I was part of the Grand Valley Track and Field Team. Being a collegiate athlete was a great way for me to learn time management skills and inspired me to create health related work.

During my second degree, I worked with a variety of companies, which gave me a new perspective on how different companies operate. Outside of work, I attended professional learning and networking functions where I was able to talk with people from different industries and learn more things about what they want and need. I attended AIGA, Creative Mornings, and other community events around Grand Rapids.

In my spare time, I tend to try new things and adventure to new places. I enjoy hiking, playing with my dog Brady, and trying new restaurants and breweries.
